Berry, Thomas Elliot

Dr. Thomas E. Berry (1912-1991) was an esteemed faculty member of the then West Chester State College English department from 1947 to 1978.  Berry published ten books during his time at West Chester State College.  The manuscript in this collection, Journalism in America, was chosen as the best book in its category in 1976 by the United States Information Agency.  While at West Chester State College, Berry was a faculty advisor to the Quad Angles for 18 years and set up the first Graduate Program serving as its first director.  The 1978 Serpentine was dedicated to Dr. Berry. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Thomas Berry married Helen Grace Walker in 1940 and had a son, Thomas L. Berry in 1942.
