Biographical / Historical

Paul William Rossey (7 July 1926-Present) was born in Indiana and grew up in New York City. He married Adelaide Elizabeth Finnegan. He earned a BS from New Jersey City University in 1952 and an MA from New York University in 1953. He attended New York University, as a Kellogg Fellow in 1955, and earned a Doctorate of Education in 1958.

His career prior to his tenure at West Chester is as follows:

Head of Junior School, Peddie School, Hightstown, 1952-1953; Consultant, Elementary School Instructor, West Hempstead, New York, 1953-1955; Principal of Elementary School, Dobbs Ferry, New York, 1955-1958; Superintendent of Schools, Litchfield, Connecticut, 1958-1960; Superintendent of Schools, Scotch Plains-Fanwood, New Jersey, 1960-1967; District Superintendent of Schools, Nassau County, New York, 1967-1969

After he left West Chester, Rossey served as Superintendent of Schools, Millburn-Short Hills, New Jersey from 1974 to 1992.
