Series 1 Handbooks contains the department's handbooks from 1973-1990, which introduce the department's purpose, operations, and services. They also provide information about the sports clubs and intramural teams that use the department's facilities.
Series 2 Departmental Correspondence and Newsletters includes correspondence between the department and the campus community as well as newsletters about recreation classes, special programs, and opportunities.
Series 3 Promotional Materials features brochures and flyers for events and programs being held by the department, as well as calendars of events.

Biographical / Historical
West Chester University Recreation Services, formerly known as Recreational Services, mission is to engage "the West Chester University community through co-curricular experiences by providing diverse programs to inspire lifelong health and wellness."
Campus Recreation programs include fitness, leisure, recreational, and competitive programs and services in a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities. Fitness, leisure, and recreational opportunities include self-directed exercise, group classes, a climbing wall, and more. Competitive programs include an array of Sports Club teams and intramural teams.
Campus Recreations has an Outdoor Adventure Pursuits Program that provides gear rentals for outing enthusiasts. They also offer outdoor educational opportunities, such as trips, a variety of outing excursions, and related certifications.
