This collection is divided into six series: Correspondence, Departmental and Course Materials, Newsletters, Promotional Materials, WCU Poetry Conference, and WCU English Colloquium.

Series 1 Correspondence inclues letters about programs, publications, and departmental matters.

Series 2 Departmental and Course Materials includes information about majors and minors, meeting minutes, proposed curriculum and policy changes, and faculty research and scholarship.

Series 3 Newsletters features "Limited Omniscient", a monthly newsletter of the Rhymers' Circle for English Students and Faculty, and "Reaction: A Creative and Critical Outlet for Students of English".

Series 4 Promotional Materials has flyers, invitiations, and programs, for events led or sponsored by the department.

Series 5 WCU Poetry Conference and Series 6 WCU English Colloquium both contain materials related to conferences and colloquiums put on by the English department. Series 5 has programs from the annual WCU Poetry Conference, and Series 6 includes correspondence, flyers and title cards related to WCU English Colloquium presentations.

Biographical / Historical

The West Chester University Department of English offers a variety of interdisciplinary courses that provide students with skills in analysis, rhetoric, and writing. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Enligh and Master of Arts degrees in Literature, Writing, Teaching, and Criticism, and Creative Writing. They offer a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and minors in the following areas: African/African American Literature, Business and Technical Writing, Creative Writing, Film Criticism, Journalism, Linguistics, and Literature and Diverse Cultures.
