Scope and Contents
The first letter was written by Daniel W. Longacre on September 26, 1897. It was sent from his residence in Trooper, PA to his daughters Emma and Mae Longacre, who were attending West Chester State Normal School and residing in Norristown, PA. The letter contains updates on the family and neighborhood activities, including the election of town officials, the death and burial of a neighbor, and a choir show.
