Overview Dr. Earl Francis Sykes (1902-1977) was a teacher and university administrator from Kansas who served as president of West Chester State College (now West Chester University of Pennsylvania) from 1961-1969. King (1922-1993) was a professor of elementary education at West Chester University from 1955 to 1983; she was named professor emeritus in 1984.  This collection includes materials that accompanied King in her career, including her essays, awards, speeches, newspaper articles, correspondence, tapes, and photographs.
