Overview Hummel LaRue Frain (1896-1965) was born in Union Deposit, PA. He attended the Pierce Business School in Philadelphia and then the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his MA and PhD degrees. Dr. Frain was a professor of finance and economics for nearly forty years. This collection contains the administrative papers of H. LaRue Frain, Interim President of West Chester State Teachers College, 1959-60.

Overview Charles G. Mayo (1931-1985) served as President of West Chester State College from 1974-1982. Prior to leading WCSC, Mayo was the Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Southern California. WCSC had just been censured by the AAUP when Mayo assumed his presidency of the institution; the circumstances of his firing eight years later led to another AAUP investigation and censure.
